            THE WORKSHOP
will concentrate on a very personal approach to photography.
The students will be asked to within themselves find the story, the core of what they are showing in their
photographs. The workshop will be totally focused on content and not on technique.

It is also in the concept of the workshop that it will end in an open process rather than in a finalized work.
As JH says: “I want to start something, not to end something….”

The venue for the workshop is the island of Stord, which is situated at the entrance of the Hardanger fjord, on
the west coast of Norway. The island has approximately 20.000 inhabitants, and is blessed with the magic light
            of the North!

All lectures will be held at our studio, no less than a former Kingdom Hall of Jehovas Witnesses… Participants
will stay at a small hotel 10 minutes’ walk from the studio. At the hotel there will be a darkroom with facilities for
black-and-white film processing, and print making (mainly contact prints).

Should you wish to work digitally you will need to bring all necessary equipment.

We will serve lunch in our garden every day, this is included in the workshop-fee. Also included are a welcome
dinner and a farewell-dinner. Beverages (beer/wine/mineralwater) are included with all lunches and the welcome-dinner.
